Hans Ressdorf

Hans H. Ressdorf, born in Mulheim, Germany, is an impressionist painter of traditional and contemporary themes. He immigrated to the United States in 1949 at which time he began working in building and architectural design. Though successful in this venture, offers for his paintings continued to come in from corporations and private sectors, enabling him to continue his art.

A one man show in New York made his name known to art lovers and collectors in the East. Upon retirement to the West, Hans has been able to concentrate fully on painting, working in a wide variety of different media with his current work primarily done in oil with a palette knife.

Now living in Arizona, Hans’ paintings reflect both the European and Southwestern influence that have become so much a part of his life. His Southwestern subjects, which include landscapes and Indian cultures, show beauty, sensitivity and diversity. His traditional and European works show keen imagination and intuition, and his brilliant use of color make his paintings truly spectacular.

Hans has been the recipient of numerous awards including the prestigious University Women of America awards and the George Phippen Memorial Award. His work is owned by corporate and private collectors throughout the United States and Europe.
