“The southwest influence shows in the vibrant skies in my mission and landscape paintings.” ~Lil Leclerc
Lil is a self-taught artist. She has admired and studied the works of artists such as the Impressionists, Edgar Payne, John F. Carlson, Kevin MacPherson and Jay Moore. These artists have inspired her to paint plein air landscapes, florals and missions of the southwest. Lil is an avid horsewoman and spends many days riding in wilderness areas. Her plein air work is often composed and painted in these wilderness areas. She paints in both traditional oils and acrylics.
Her paintings are in national and international private collections. Lil has had her work juried into the Empire Ranch Fall Show, the Empire Ranch Western 100 Show, Tubac Center of the Arts, and the Tucson Plein Air Annual Member Shows. She is also a member of Oil Painters of America, the Tucson Plein Air Painters Society (TPAPS), Arizona Plein Air Painters Association (APAPA) and a founding member of the Cochise Outdoors Painters.
Lil is the Rogoway Turquoise Tortoise Gallery Featured Artist for December, 2015. You can read more about Lil here: Lil Leclerc, Featured Artist
