“Seek your journey’s beginning and end…” ~Brian Vikander

 

 

 

Brian Vikander is a professional photographer, travel writer and explorer. He is one of a diminishing breed of individuals who continue to seek out our globe’s most unusual corners. For the past 23 years, he has been recording the face of the ever- changing, developing world.

As a photojournalist, he has completed assignments to over 100 countries, on six continents. He has: 1) followed the footsteps of Genghis Khan, from Mongolia through Central Asia; 2) traced the integration of culture across the Sahara Desert, in West Africa; and 3) traveled along the original Burma Road. Currently, he is developing a book project,

The chronicle of his photographic efforts have been seen in virtually every domestic and international publication that deals with the world of exotic travel. Most recently his work has appeared on the cover of the National Geographic book, entitled, Unlocking the Secrets of the Unknown; the cover of the National Geographic CD ROM Pictures Atlas of the World; in Fuji Film promotions; and National Geographic television advertisements. Also, he was recently named the Third Place winner in the distinguished CANON/SPORTS ILLUSTRATED sports photography competition.

Additionally, Brian is a highly sought after lecturer and leader of photographic tours, having provided inspirational presentations and workshops for a wide variety of organizations, including: the prestigious YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization); Universities (India and Hong Kong); the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; and many global business groups. His photographs are a part of many corporate and private art collections.
