“Seek your journey’s beginning and end…” ~Brian Vikander

Brian Vikander’s award-winning,  photographic artistry flows from the inner side of the human equation.  Through his visuals we come upon an evocative  side of humanity, to which we all innately relate, for we recognize our human similarities and rejoice in them.   He applies a personal vision, which has always allowed his photographic perception to stand apart.  The design of his imagery is to create  faithful, visually realistic and arresting impressions, from the other’s perspective. He continues to create with color transparency film (analog NOT digital) for all of his fine art photography, so that the viewer/collector remain confident that the moment did in fact exist.

Vikander is one of a diminishing breed of individuals who continue to seek out our globe’s most unusual corners.  For 35+ years, as a professional photographer, creative writer, lecturer (Young Presidents’ Organization, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, et al) and explorer, he has been recording our ever-changing world. The chronicle of his photographic virtuosity has been seen in virtually  every publication, globally, that deals with the exotic inclination of our planet, including: National Geographic, Smithsonian, Time, Paris Match and GEO.  As a photo-journalist, he has completed assignments to over 100 countries, on 6 continents. In the fine art world, he has had 18 solo exhibitions and has participated in more than 40 group exhibitions. His photographic imagery is part of major  museum, corporate and private collections worldwide. And, finally, Brian conducts one or two unusual photographic tours for adventurous and inquisitive travelers each calendar year.

The purpose of his journey is to modulate the state of being in the soul, to awaken sensitivity to the feelings of others, to reveal the unity underlying our own nature and refresh through the integration of our capacity for insight, understanding and joy.  His photographs are reservoirs of spiritual energy and they transmit this energy according to the quality of attention that we bring to them.  The effects of this energy can be described as exultation, awareness, tranquility, or a willing surrender of our private concerns to a universal experience.
